I never imagined so many years ago that an invitation to Japan would lead to a love of the people, culture and the land.

Years later I return to Japan for a year to re-indulge and to develop a better understanding of the way of life in such an intriguing place. I managed to avoid the temptation of earning the strong Japanese Yen and found my own wealth going to festivals, overnight trips into the mountains and cycling parts of Japan on an old bike I named Tombo (Dragonfly), all with a camera in hand.
